Downtown Hanover Art Walk

Friday, September 5, 2025
11:00 am12:00 pm

We are so excited for our First Friday Art Walk in downtown Hanover! So excited to connect with other local art lovers! Here are the stops along the route:

Little Fox Coffee & Books is featuring Dorothy Hartley, an illustrator and muralist from Biglerville, Pennsylvania. She seeks to create warm, inviting artwork that explores folklore, mystery, tradition, and the cycles of the earth. She is a co-founder of The Hartley Residence, an artist residency and land restoration project, where she leads programming in agricultural education. You can find her artwork at dorothyhartley.com. She will be there for an artist meet & greet.

The Hanover Arts Guild welcomes visitors to celebrate the opening of the featured exhibit: Abstract Art. Many people, artists and non-artists both, are sometimes confused about what abstract art is. The word abstract means to separate or withdraw something from something else. Thus, abstract art is based on objects that have been simplified. It can also be completely non-objective. The exhibit will run through September 27. Also available during the Art Walk is a selection of art donated by members that visitors can take home for a contribution to the Guild’s scholarship or classroom supply fund.

The Gallery at The Old Post Office shares two dozen works by seventeen artists — all on 12" x 12" panels — but you'll be amazed by the wide variety of art mediums! Look for us at 141 Broadway, with free parking is available behind the building.

The Serpent's Key is featuring artist Marshall Kelly. Marshall Kelly is a nonbinary artist from Westminster, Maryland. Their art spans across a wide range of medias from paintings, to digital, and sculptural. The one unifying trait all their pieces share is their love for whimsical larger than life fantasy based styles. They use their art as a way to manifest what they wish to see more of in the world- harmony, togetherness, fun, and most importantly love. Their hope is to inspire others by reflecting the beautiful, authentic, and raw aspects of life that we can sometimes miss in our day to day struggles, while still remaining true to themselves and those around them.
