Statement Regarding The York Revolution Pride Night News

The Rainbow Rose Center has been informed of the York Revolution’s decision to forfeit tonight’s game while continuing to host Pride in the Park as a free community event.

This situation has been difficult for many members of the LGBTQIA+ community, our supporters, and our organization. While we are disappointed that circumstances led to this outcome, we appreciate the York Revolution’s commitment to ensuring that Pride in the Park will still take place.

For more than a decade, this event has represented far more than a baseball game. It has been a celebration of visibility, belonging, and community. It has brought together thousands of people from across our region and raised critical funds that support the Rainbow Rose Center’s work serving LGBTQIA+ youth, adults, families, and allies throughout York County.

We recognize that today’s decision was not an easy one. The York Revolution chose to prioritize the continuation of Pride Night, ensuring that LGBTQIA+ community members and supporters still have a space to gather, celebrate, and be seen. For that, we are grateful.

Our focus tonight remains where it has always been: on our community. We encourage everyone to join us in celebrating Pride, supporting one another, and demonstrating the resilience, strength, and joy that have always defined our movement.

The Rainbow Rose Center remains committed to building a York County where every person feels welcomed, valued, and respected. We look forward to gathering with our community tonight and continuing that work together.
