Research Opportunity For Parents Of GLBTQ+ Individuals

A team working with Dr. Susan De Luca and Dr. John Blosnich is conducting a research study focused on understanding the different types of help-seeking parents may engage in when a child comes out to them. The project, entitled "The Roles of Parental Mental Health and Help-Seeking: Utilizing a Family Systems Approach to Upstream Suicide Prevention for Sexual Minority Youth" is funded by the National Institute of Minority Health and Health Disparities (NIMHD). You can read more about the project here.

One of the aims of the study is to determine how best to engage parents who have a child/adolescent who came out as gay, lesbian, bisexual, or another sexual identity.
