X-WR-CALDESC:This exhibit shares powerful portraits of LGBTQ+ youth and you
ng adults in Adams County\, honoring their stories and self-expression.\n
\nOpening night is May 30th from 6–8pm at Waldo’s and Company. The portrai
ts will also be on display at Gettysburg Community Theatre\, with both exh
ibits up through June.\n\nThe project was offered free to participants as
a way to help them feel seen and valued. Each person received individual a
nd group photos\, with the option to be included in the public exhibit. As
one participant put it:\n\n“It's so important to see queer people existin
g in a variety of manners and ways. Recording queer people and who they ar
e is something I deeply treasure\, and I miss all of my LGBTQIA+ ancestors
who came before me but never had the opportunity to be known or seen. Thi
s project evokes that\; the youths who get to grow old and the youths who
are not dead yet. It says we are here\, we are here\, we are here.”\n\nThe
exhibit is also a fundraiser supporting local nonprofits that empower LGB

and Gettysburg Pride. Donations are accepted at both exhibit locations th
rough June 30th or on Waldo’s Events Page https://www.waldosandco.com/even
ts.\n\nSponsored by the Nan Hatzes Memorial Fund Grant\, Gettysburg Pride\
, and the 2025 STAR Grant from the Adams County Arts Council.
