Equality Fest

York's inclusive answer to Pride

Save the Date for October 10th, 2020

Equality Fest was originally inspired by the May 20, 2014 decision of the U.S. Federal District Court allowing Pennsylvania marriages for those within the LGBTQIA+ community. We now also celebrate the June 26, 2015 Supreme Court’s legalization of same-sex marriages in the whole United States and now the June 15, 2020 Supreme Court decision holding that federal law Title VII prohibits employment discrimination against LGBTQIA+ workers.

The Rainbow Rose Center Board joins forces annually with several like minded organizations, faith communities, retailers, artists, politicians, and committed citizens to produce a full day which fosters connections, awareness and activism within the beautifully diverse citizenship of York County, PA.

This event is free and open to the public. The festival features speakers, music, dance, theater, poetry, spoken word, and performance art as well as live visual art and strolling performers, retail vendors, informational tables, and history displays. The event has a fully interactive children’s area with games and activities.

The event actively celebrates the full inclusion of ALL wonderfully diverse citizens in ALL aspects of civic life – regardless of race, age, sexual orientation, gender identity or gender expression, mental or physical ability, social status, or economic status.

We are a SMOKE FREE festival in partnership with the Bradbury-Sullivan LGBT Center as part of their initiative for a healthier and longer lived community. We do not accept sponsorship or vending applications from tobacco, vaping, cigarette or other similar companies.
